  • Team Abu Dhabi’s quest for glory in their very first appearance at the Abu Dhabi T10 received a significant boost following the announcement that Paras Khadka, a dynamic all-rounder and former captain of the Nepalese cricket team, has been selected as the Team’s International Community Promoter player ahead of next month’s blockbuster tournament.

The talented Nepalese superstar is a multi-dimensional player who loves to attack with the bat and brings a mix of right-arm medium-fast and occasional off-spin bowling to Team Abu Dhabi’s already impressive line-up.

Khadka was in the global spotlight earlier this year when he became the first of his countrymen to score a century in both ODI and T20 formats. He is now all set to join the fast-paced T10 format and a star-studded Team Abu Dhabi that includes Moeen Ali, Harry Wright, Corey Anderson and Niroshan Dickwella.

Speaking of his selection, Khadka said: “It is an honour to be joining Team Abu Dhabi and I can’t wait to be involved in this incredibly exciting tournament. I know the matches are going to be intense, but I love playing against the world’s best. I’m hoping to see the Nepalese flag flying high in the stands of Zayed Cricket Stadium when I play next month.”

Khadka joins a team led by Australian Trevor Bayliss, England’s World Cup winning coach, alongside a coaching roster of UAE Coach Dougie Brown and James Foster. Playing talent includes England young gun Harry Gurney, Kiwi paceman Corey Anderson and UAE power-duo Rohan Mustafa and Rameez Shahzad.

Bayliss, commented on the selection: “Paras is an impressive player who excels in short-forms of the game. Both his batting and bowling prowess make him a threat to any team, and he adds another exciting dimension to the balance of Team Abu Dhabi. I’m sure that Nepalese fans are going to love the opportunity to see him perform in Abu Dhabi this November.”

The Abu Dhabi T10 will commence on November 14 with a show-stopping opening ceremony concert, headlined by the legend Atif Aslam and an all-star South Asian cast featuring Shakib Khan, Nora Fatehi and Parvati Nair. The tournament, which will run through to November 24, will be broadcast in India on Sony Six and Sony Ten 3.
