The Indian bowlers picked up the eight wickets that they required overnight in just over one session on day five as the hosts took a 1-0 lead in the five-match Test series at Visakhapatnam (Vizag).
While former Indian batsman VVS Laxman applauded the Indian team for their victory, former English skipper Michael Vaughan tweeted that England cannot blame the loss on the toss.
Former English cricketer and commentator David Lloyd felt that England’s defensive approach in the fourth innings was not the right choice, while Jonny Bairstow believes his team can take positives into the third Test.
There was also a dubious record for James Anderson in what is being described as a ‘perfect Test for India’.
You can see that and more here as we collect the top tweets from day five.
Congratulations to Team India on an impressive win👏👏Keep it up 👍 #IndvsEng @BCCI

Gutted to lose today! Came up just short in this game. Positives to be taken from it into next week. Thanks to the people who came to Vizag

Toss always crucial in #INDIA .. But when you lose by 246 it's not a viable excuse I am afraid .. #INDvENG

Observation ..blocking gets you nowhere in India ..you have to find a way to score to push fielders away from the bat

While the spinners won the game, and Kohli gave them runs to bowl at, the fast bowlers provided crucial breakthroughs. #5Bowlers

The perfect Test for India: win toss, score big, unleash spinners. Tough to combat.
