  • Mishra makes a return to the T20I squad.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have decided to rest all-rounders Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja for the upcoming T20I series against England.

The spin duo were named in the initial 15-man squad, but with Indian cricketers scheduled to play five Tests and the Indian Premier League (IPL) before the ICC Champions Trophy in June, the decision to rest them was taken.

Amit Mishra and Parvez Rasool have been named as the replacements for Ashwin and Jadeja.

Mishra was part of the Indian ODI squad that beat England 2-1 in the recently concluded ODI series, but he did not get a game. On the other hand, Rasool has played one international game for the Men in Blue and that was back in 2014.

India will face England in three T20Is, with the matches scheduled for Kanpur, Bengaluru and Nagpur.
