  • According to a report on Wah Cricket, Mohit Ahlawat of Maavi XI slammed a triple century in a T20 match against Friend’s XI in Delhi on Tuesday.

Ahlawat took just 72 deliveries to notch up an unbeaten 300 – an innings which included 14 fours and 39 sixes which means that more than 50% of the deliveries he faced went for a maximum.

This is the first instance of a batsman hitting a triple hundred in a T20 match at any level.

Maavi XI went on to post a total of 416/2 in their 20 overs at an incredible run-rate of 20.8 runs per over. Gaurav also played a handy knock, scoring a 39-ball 86.

At the international level, no batsman has scored a triple century in either ODIs or T20Is. The top score in an ODI is 264 by India’s Rohit Sharma while Australia’s Aaron Finch holds the record in T20Is with 156.

In fact, no one has even scored a double century in T20s even at the domestic level with Chris Gayle’s 175 against Pune Warriors India in IPL 2013 being the highest score.
