Goel, Shivalkar, Rangaswamy to be honoured at BCCI awards

  • Rajinder Goel, Padmakar Shivalkar and Shanta Rangaswamy are all set to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming BCCI Awards.

    Rangaswamy will the first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Women. She was one of the stars of the Indian women’s team during her playing days, representing the country in 16 Tests and 19 ODIs.

    Goel and Shivalkar, on the other hand, will be honoured with the Col. CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.

    The duo are considered to be two of the unluckiest cricketers to have played the game. Despite huge success at the domestic level, neither left-arm spinner played for India.

    Goel picked up 750 wickets in first-class cricket at an average of 18.58 while Shivalkar took 589 scalps at an average of 19.69.

    Former India wicket-keeper Farokh Engineer will deliver the fifth MAK Pataudi Memorial Lecture on the same night.

    The BCCI Awards will be held on March 8 in Bengaluru.
