  • Rohit Sharma took the test at the NCA in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Rohit Sharma has finally cleared the Yo-Yo fitness test and is set to travel with the India limited-overs squad in their upcoming tour of England.

The India opening batsman is reported to have retaken the test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru on Wednesday and is said to have passed it this time according to IndiaTV.

The BCCI has mandated clearing the Yo-Yo test as a minimum requirement for selection to the Indian team with various players failing to clear that hurdle over the past few months.

Rohit was initially supposed to take the test on June 15 but the Mumbai batsman decided to skip it before taking it two days later on June 17. It was reported that the opener had failed to pass the test after not being able to clear the minimum threshold of 16.1.

Rohit had reportedly failed his first attempt on June 17.

Rohit had reportedly failed his first attempt on June 17.

He is said to have asked the BCCI for another chance to take the test and was granted a chance on Tuesday. However, the India star failed to turn up at the NCA for his test and it was subsequently deferred to Wednesday.

India are slated to depart for Dublin, Ireland on June 23 from Delhi where they will take on the hosts in two T20Is. The team will then leave Dublin for English shores for an extensive tour where they will play three ODIs and as many T20Is before finishing with a five-match Test series.
