Arjun Tendulkar bowls during team India net session ahead of first T20I against Ireland

  • Arjun Tendulkar has previously bowled to the Indian team too.

    The Indian cricket team conducted its first training session since landing in London at the Merchant Taylor’s school on Monday.

    Among those who bowled during the net session was Arjun Tendulkar. The son of the Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun seen getting advice from India head coach Ravi Shastri.

    The 18-year-old pacer was recently selected to the India U19 squad which is set to tour Sri Lank in July. This is not the first time that the left-arm quick has bowled at the Indian team.

    “Words of wisdom from @RaviShastriOfc for young Arjun Tendulkar,” the BCCI tweeted on Tuesday.

    The Indian team trained at the 285-acre private school in Hertfordshire at the outskirts of London. Former West Indies opener Gordon Greenidge, who has coached at the school previously, was also present during the team’s training session.

    While Arjun performed his duties as a net bowler, another former India cricketer’s son made an appearance on Monday. Ashish Nehra paid the team a visit during the session with his young son in tow.

    India are slated to take on Ireland in two T20Is at Dublin to kickstart their tour of the UK. Virat Kohli and his men will travel to Dublin to take on the hosts in the first T20I at the Malahide Cricket Club on Wednesday.

    The second T20 between the two sides will take place on June 29 following which the Indian team will return to England where they will play three ODIs, three T20Is and five Tests against the hosts.
