    Australia batsman Steve Smith and West Indies star Chris Gayle arrived in Canada for the Global T20 League which begins on Thursday.

    Smith will play for Toronto Nationals alongside Darren Sammy, Keiron Pollard and UAE internationals Rohan Mustafa and Mohammad Naveed.

    India, Australia and England will be eyeing Pakistan’s No1 T20 ranking in the coming weeks.

    Pakistan and Australia will be locked in a T20 tri-series in Zimbabwe while India and England will play each other in three-match T20 series with the No1 T20 ranking up for grabs.

    The Indian cricket board uploaded a video of the team’s flight from India to the UK with all-rounder Hardik Pandya pulling the leg of a few members of the contingent. In the video, Pandya reveals a few funny nicknames given to members of the team.

    Arjun Tendulkar, son of India icon Sachin, bowled during the net session of the Indian team.

    The Indian team trained at the Merchant Taylor’s school in London on Monday. They will play Ireland in the first of two T20s on Wednesday.

    10:50 am – Kusal Perera escapes serious injury

    Sri Lanka batsman Kusal Perera was cleared to bat in the third Test against the West Indies after suffering a horror fall at the boundary ropes.

    Perera was rushed to the hospital after crashing into the advertising hoarding while attempting a catch on Monday.
