Action got underway in the second Test between India and the West Indies in Hyderabad on Friday with India looking to complete a series sweep.

India handed a Test debut to Shardul Thakur but his dream turned into a nightmare as he walked off the field in his second over after injuring his groin.

West Indies started briskly but the hosts hit back with Ravi Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav and Umesh Yadav picking up a wicket each as the visitors took lunch at 86-3. After lunch Kuldeep was on song again to reduce the Windies to 113-5. Pacer Umesh dismissed Shane Dowrich as the Windies took tea at 197-6.

However in the final session, Roston Chase and captain Jason Holder consolidated. Chase finished unbeaten on 98 while Holder departed for a well-made 52 as the visitors reached 295-7.
