India crushed New Zealand by 90 runs in the second ODI to take a 2-0 lead in the five match series in Mount Maunganui.
The Indians made 324-4 after openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma added 154 for the first wicket .
Fifties from Rohit and Dhawan laid the foundation for a big total but the men in blue were in danger of finishing well below par as they struggled to get going in the death overs.
But a late flourish from MS Dhoni (48 off 33 balls) and Kedar Jadhav (22 off 10) took India to a challenging total.
In the chase, New Zealand lost opener Martin Guptil and captain Kane Williamson to be 53-2 after nine overs. They kept losing wickets with left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav snaring four as the hosts were bowled out for 234.
