  • Mohammad Amir will not be travelling to the UAE for the T20 series

Pakistan have left out fast bowler Mohammad Amir from their squad to face Australia in the T20 series.

It is the second time that he’s been dropped after he was overlooked for the Tests in the on-going series against the Baggy Greens after going wicketless in his three matches in the Asia Cup last month.

Left-arm pacer Waqas Maqsood, who has yet to feature for the national team has been included after his impressive displays for the ‘A’ side against New Zealand.

There was also a return for all-rounder Imad Wasim after proving his fitness and form. He last played a T20 international last year against Sri Lanka.

“Maqsood has been drafted in the T20 squad after his recent performances in domestic cricket and playing for Pakistan’s ‘A’ team against New Zealand’s ‘A’ team,” said chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq.

Pakistan will play Australia in a three-match series beginning in Abu Dhabi on October 24, with Dubai hosting the final two on October 26 and 28.

Pakistan squad: Sarfraz Ahmed (captain), Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Sahibzada Farhan, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Hussain Talat, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usman Khan Shinwari, Hassan Ali, Imad Wasim, Waqas Maqsood, Faheem Ashraf
