  • Hardik Pandya.

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya continued to face the consequences of his ill-planned TV appearance as he lost a major sponsor.

According to the Times of India, Pandya lost Gillette as a sponsor after his controversial appearance on chat show ‘Koffee with Karan’ where he made crass remarks about his experience with women and other aspects of his personal life, accompanied by follow India player KL Rahul.

“Pandya’s recent comments do not reflect the values of Gillette. We have suspended our association with Hardik until we decide on further course of action,” a company spokesperson was quoted as saying by the daily.

Pandya and Rahul have been suspended until further notice by the Indian cricket board as they decide on the procedure to hand an adequate punishment, if any, to the India players.

Pandya and Rahul had earlier apologised to the BCCI chief administrator Vinod Rai but following a directive from the board’s legal team, fresh proceedings have been initiated. Pandya, especially, faces a lengthy time away from the Indian team and the episode could have an impact on his IPL career with the Mumbai Indians.
