    The Test hangs in the balance after an eventful third day’s play which saw Australia captain Steve Smith (119) and Shaun Marsh (130) take their side into a lead of 24 runs by the time the tourists were bowled out for 379.

    They also struck late on in the day to leave the hosts 22-1 at stumps, leaving Sri Lanka still two runs shy of the Australians when play resumes on day four.
