Despite a spirited 49-run partnership for the ninth wicket between Hardik Pandya and Umesh Yadav, New Zealand won a closely-fought second ODI at the Feroz Kotla Stadium by six runs.
Put into bat, the Blackcaps looked to be on their way to a big total, but a late-order collapse saw them end the innings on 242/9. Kane Williamson showed why he is rated as one of the best batsmen in the world, scoring his eight ODI century and was named the man-of-the-match.
In reply, India lost wickets at regular intervals with a number of batsmen getting starts but not carrying on to make a decent score and take control of the chase. A late flourish from Pandya, who scored 36 runs from 32 balls gave India hope, but the New Zealand bowlers kept their nerve to register their first win of the tour.
Here, we pick the top tweets from the second ODI.

The last time when NZ beat India in an ODI in India Kedar hadn't made his FC debut and Dhoni hadn't made his India debut. (2003)

Not to be. Very well defended by New Zealand. Williamson got the runs but the bowlers were the stars.

India might not win this. But until that last shot Pandya's calm gave hope. Dhoni should teach him to take it to the last over. #IndvNZ
