India’s all-round trio of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Jayant Yadav all scored half-centuries as India took a giant step towards victory on day three of the third Test against England at Mohali on Monday.
India were eventually bowled out for 417, with Jadeja top scoring with 90. Ben Stokes took his third five-wicket haul in Test cricket for the visitors.
England were 78/4 at the end of play on day three, still trailing India by 56 runs in their second innings. Ashwin was the most impressive India bowler, picking up three wickets.
On Twitter, former English cricketer and commentator David Lloyd mentioned that the failure to put on a big first innings score is what has put England in such a disadvantageous position.
On the other hand, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif praised Virat Kohli’s men, stating that they couldn’t have had a better day. Aakash Chopra, on the other hand, hailed Jayant Yadav for the maturity he has shown despite playing in just his second Test match.
Here, we collect the top tweets from day three of the third Test.
