Twitter reacts as India skipper Virat Kohli gets hitched

    India skipper Virat Kohli has put an end to all rumours and speculation regarding his marriage by announcing on Twitter that he has tied the knot with long term girlfriend and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma.

    The 29-year-old posted an image of the marriage ceremony along with a caption which read: “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love for ever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans & well wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.”

    Once the superstar confirmed the news on social media, wishes started pouring in from all quarters for Mr. and Mrs. Kohli.

    Anushka being a Bollywood star meant the film fraternity would be on of the first to wish the the couple on social media. Film-maker Karan Johar wished the couple the very best.

    Former India batting stalwart VVS Laxman is always prompt and he was one of the first cricketers to wish the couple.

    Former India cricketer Mohammed Kaif chimed in with the wishes too.

    Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh cheekily pointed out that Kohli would now be taking on vice-captain duties at home.

    Wishes poured in from across the border too as Pakistan pace spearhead Mohammed Amir payed his compliments.

    Suresh Raina was on hand to wish the couple too on their joyous day.

    Former India captain Saurav Ganguly too relayed his wishes for the current incumbent.

    Famous cricket commentator and TV personality Harsha Bhogle also delivered his congratulations to the couple.

    Virat’s idol and the original superstar of Indian cricket Sachin Tendulkar also extended his wishes to Mr. and Mrs Kohli.

    Self-confessed Kohli fan and England women’s cricketer Danielle Wyatt also took to Twitter to wish the couple.

    The Kohli-owned Indian Super League football club FC Goa did not miss out on wishing their boss the very best in his new innings.
