  • Matt Renshaw will fly to Johannesburg to join Australia’s under-fire squad for the fourth and final Test against South Africa.

The left-handed batsman was left out of the squad that faced England in the Ashes as Cameron Bancroft , one of the two players charged by the ICC for ball-tampering was picked.

Steven Smith was the other player sanctioned by cricket’s governing body. Smith was stripped off captaincy during the Cape Town Test, along with David Warner who was removed as vice-captain.

The ICC also has imposed a one-match ban against Smith which means he will be unavailable for the Wanderers Test. A decision from CA is also expected to come out soon after CEO James Sutherland arrived in South Africa to assess the findings of an investigation by Integrity officer Iain Roy into the incident.

On Tuesday, Renshaw helped Queensland win the Sheffield Shield final. He has been in tremendous form of late. The 21-year old scored successive centuries – 170 against Victoria, 112 against South Australia and 143 not out against Western Australia – to lead his team into the final where he hit 81 not out while chasing 128 against Tasmania.
