After a lopsided ODI series where England swept Australia away by 5-0, two sides locked horns for the last time this summer in a one-off T20I at Edgbaston in Birmingham with the hosts tasting success once again.

England batted first and amassed 221-5 with Jos Buttler smashing yet another fifty on Wednesday.

In reply, the Aussies put up a good fight before being bowled out for 193 to give England a 28-run win.

Aaron Finch took over the captaincy reins for the sole T20I after Tim Paine handled the duties in the ODI series.

Finch won the toss and elected to bowl first. Australia handed a T20I debut to leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson. Glenn Maxwell also returned to the side after missing out in the final ODI due to injury.
