Cricketers around the world have today been shocked by the injury to Phil Hughes that saw the Australian international airlifted to hospital and left in a ‘critical condition’, according to a New South Wales ambulance official.
Hughes’ injury came in his South Australia side’s Sheffield Shield match against NSW after missing an attempted pull at a Shaun Abbott bouncer, which struck the 25-year-old in the head.
The cricketing community were left in horror by the news and, like the tweeters below, our thoughts are with Phil and his family at this time.
