    8.57pm: Virat Kohli set to play an unchanged playing XI for the first time as India Test skipper

    India skipper Virat Kohli has announced that spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is fit to play in the fourth Test against England which gets underway at Southampton on Thursday.

    The off-spinner had suffered a groin injury in the third Test in Nottingham and there were doubts over his availability for the penultimate Test after he did not bowl in the team’s training session on Monday.

    Speaking on the eve of the match, Kohli stated that India are likely to field the same playing XI that beat England by 203 runs in the third Test at Trent Bridge.

    7.29pm: Manish Pandey clubs Australia A again as India B win quadrangular series by nine wickets

    India B have beaten Australia A by nine wickets in the one-day quadrangular series final at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Wednesday.

    The match winner for India was in-form captain Manish Pandey who blasted 73 not out, following on his unbeaten century against the same opponent just a few days previous.

    4:30pm – Jos Buttler to keep wickets for England in fourth Test

    Jos Buttler will keep wicket for England in the fourth Specsavers Test against India, the England and Wales Cricket Board has announced.

    Jonny Bairstow will play as a specialist batsman, while Moeen Ali and Sam Curran replace Ollie Pope and Chris Woakes.

    4:15pm – Fit-again Bhuvneshwar Kumar back among the wickets

    India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar completed his return from an injury lay-off with a three-wicket haul against South Africa ‘A’ team on Wednesday.

    The 28-year-old has had to undergo a lengthy spell on the sidelines after aggravating a lower-back injury during the third ODI between England and India in July.

    4:00pm – James Anderson on verge of historical feat

    There are plenty of stats that will come into play when England and India lock horns in the fourth Test of the five-match series at Southampton.

    The biggest among them is England pacer James Anderson nearing Glenn McGrath’s tally of 563 Test wickets. With 557 scalps to his name currently, Anderson could become the all-time leading wicket-taking pacer in history with seven more wickets.

    The enthralling Test series between England and India has left us spectators on the edge of our seats throughout.

    And the contest is finely poised heading into this week’s fourth match at Southampton, following the tourists’ Trent Bridge fightback to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

    India skipper Virat Kohli has raised concerns that commercial aspects are hurting the true quality of the game. The 29-year-old batsman is one of the busiest cricketers in the world leading India in all three formats along with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.

    With the ECB set to launch a new format in the form of the ‘Hundred’, Kohli had made his thoughts on the concept clear.

    12:00pm – Ravi Ashwin resumes bowling in the nets for India

    India received a boost ahead of the fourth Test against England at Southampton with off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin having a bowl in the nets on Tuesday.

    The 31-year-old’s fitness has been a concern ever since he sustained a groin injury in the third Test at Southampton.
