The tourists lost another two as Yasir Shah removed Mitch Marsh for 13 while Bilal Asif got his first wicket of the game with Aaron Finch (39).

In the last ball before lunch, Tim Paine was trapped LBW by Asif to leave Australia 91-7. Abbas completed his fifth wicket and wrapped up Australia’s first innings of 145 in 50.4 overs, trailing by 137 runs.

In their second innings, Mohammad Hafeez was out for six after being bowled by Mitchell Starc. But Pakistan continued to take control with Fakhar Zaman reaching his half-century as the hosts crossed the 100-run mark.
