  • Jasprit Bumrah is back for the remainder of the ODI series.

India recalled frontline pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah for the remainder of the ODI series against the West Indies.

The two pacers were given a rest for the first two ODIs after their exertions in the Asia Cup but have now been recalled following a less than satisfactory showing by the Indian fast bowlers against the Windies.

While Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar make a return to the ODI squad, Mohammed Shami has been left out for the remaining three matches.

A surprise exclusion was that of batsman Kedar Jadhav, who played a key part in India’s triumph in the Asia Cup. Jadhav had injured his hamstring during the tournament, after which he was not picked for the first two ODIs against the West Indies.

However, while the right-hander has returned to action in the ongoing Deodhar Cup, he has been deemed not fit enough to be called up to the ODI squad. Middle-order batsman Manish Pandey continues to retain his place in the squad despite not getting a single game in the two ODIs so far.

India currently lead the five-match series 1-0 after the second ODI between the two sides ended in a dramatic tie at Vishakapatnam on Wednesday.
