  • AB de Villiers.

South Africa’s retired batting star AB de Villiers showed he has more than enough firepower left in the tank as he smashed an unbeaten century in the Bangladesh Premier League T20 tournament.

Batting for Rangpur Riders, De Villiers cracked 100 not out off just 50 deliveries to secure an eight-wicket win against Dhaka Dynamites chasing 187.

De Villiers hit eight fours and six sixes during his knock, adding 184 for the third wicket with opener Alex Hales (85) after the Riders were reduced to 5-2 in the chase.

De Villiers made himself unavailable for the upcoming World Cup after announcing his retirement from international cricket last year. Then, De Villiers said he had run out of gas after playing international cricket for South Africa in all formats.

However, the South African batting great has featured in franchise cricket across the globe and has expressed his desire to also feature in the scheduled 100-ball tournament in England.
