  • Jimmy Neesham.

New Zealand brought in all-rounder Jimmy Neesham and leg-spinner Todd Astle for the remaining two ODIs against India having already lost the series.

The Kiwis trail the five-match series 3-0 after being outplayed in all matches and decided to ring in the changes for last two games. However, out-of-form openers Martin Guptill and Colin Monro managed to retain their places.

Guptill and Monro’s stands have been 10, 23 and five so far.

Neesham returns in place of all-rounder Doug Bracewell, while Astle comes in for out-of form leg-spinner Ish Sodhi.

Astle has recovered from a knee injury which kept him out of New Zealand’s series against Pakistan in November.

“It’s great to welcome back the all-round skills of Jimmy and Todd and we’re looking forward to seeing what they can bring to the series,” selector Gavin Larsen said.

“We’re still looking to keep our options open with selections at this stage and ensure we continue to learn as much as we can about our players.”

New Zealand squad: Kane Williamson (c), Todd Astle, Trent Boult, Colin De Grandhomme, Lockie Ferguson, Martin Guptill, Matt Henry, Tom Latham, Colin Munro, Jimmy Neesham, Henry Nicholls, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor
