  • Imam will wear Peshawar Zalmi colours in PSL 4.

Opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq has become the latest player to join Pakistan Super League (PSL) outfit Peshawar Zalmi ahead of the upcoming edition.

The Pakistan opener’s late induction into the squad was confirmed by the franchise on Wednesday with Imam set to become the 21st player in the team roster.

Welcoming the addition of the Pakistan international, Peshawar Zalmi chairman Javed Afridi stated, “With the inclusion of Imam-ul-Haq, our squad has further strengthened.”

Led by West Indies all-rounder Darren Sammy, Peshawar Zalmi are bidding to win their second PSL title as the fourth edition of the tournament gets ready to get underway in Dubai on Thursday.

Zalmi have in their ranks the likes of Kieron Pollard, Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz and Dawid Malan and the addition of Imam to the line up should go a long way in boosting their chances in the PSL.

Imam has made a promising start to his international career for Pakistan with the left-hander registering five ODI tons in just 21 appearances. He is yet to debut for Pakistan in the T20 format but has an excellent average of over 60 in ODI cricket.

2017 PSL champions Peshawar Zalmi will open their PSL campaign on Friday at Dubai with a clash against Sarfraz Ahmed’s Quetta Gladiators.
