It was surprising to see Wriddhiman Saha walking out to open the Kings XI Punjab innings alongside Martin Guptill against Mumbai Indians on Thursday, but what a move it proved to be.
Replacing Manan Vohra at the top of the order, Saha played a brilliant knock that helped Punjab to a victory that has kept them afloat in the race for a top-four finish.
The Indian wicketkeeper-batsman batted through the innings, staying unbeaten on 93 from 55 deliveries. He hit as many as 11 fours and three sixes during his knock which helped Punjab amass 230-3 in their 20 overs.
Saha would later also take a brilliant catch that resulted in the dismissal of Hardik Pandya at a crucial juncture of the match.
Unsurprisingly, he was named as the Player of the Match.

Feel very proud of the team.
Always enjoy watching players show another dimension to them. And @Wriddhipops has done again today what he did in the 2014 final.
