  • Kolkata Knight Riders seamer Vinay Kumar defended his bowling on Wednesday after he was attacked on social media for his performance against Chennai Super Kings on Tuesday.

Defending 17 in a high-scoring match in Chennai, Vinay bowled a no ball that was hit for a six by Dwayne Bravo and he was hit for another six as Kolkata lost the match despite scoring 202.

After the game, Vinay copped a lot of abuse on social media and he asked cricket fans to not go overboard, reminding IPL fans of his previous efforts.

“Hey guys take it easy, it’s just a game. Where were you all when I defended 9 runs against RCB and 10 runs against Mumbai Indians!! Sometimes things do go wrong so CHILL….” Vinay said on Twitter.

That tweet received even more vitriol from fans. In the opening match of IPL 2018 for Kolkata, Vinay went for 30 runs from his two overs and took two wickets against Bangalore.
