Delhi Daredevils fast bowler Avesh Khan was clocked at 148.7kph (92.3mph) in his opening over against Kings XI Punjab as he picked up the wicket of opener Aaron Finch in Delhi on Monday.

Khan’s first ball to opener KL Rahul was clocked at 142kph before he cranked up the pace to 148kph to Aussie batsman Finch who was beaten for pace as he attempted a pull shot but the ball ballooned off the splice to cover.

The fourth ball of the over, bowled to Rahul, beat the batsman for pace and bounce and even saw the keeper struggle to gather the ball.

Khan, 21, took 12 wickets from six games in the 2016 Under-19 World Cup. He made his first-class debut in 2014 but has only played 16 domestic matches in all.

The pacer from Madhya Pradesh played his first match of this IPL on Monday and should catch the eye of a few in the national selection group.
