Royal Challengers Bangalore fans’ fears were confirmed as AB de Villers was left out of the squad to face Mumbai Indians in a crucial IPL encounter.
The South African star missed Sunday’s defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders with a viral fever and hasn’t recovered in time to face Mumbai.
Both sides are languishing at the wrong end of the table and are desperate for the win.
Murugan Ashwin has been dropped for RCB in favour for Washington Sundar.
Meanwhile, Evin Lewis is ruled out for Mumbai Indians with an elbow injury, paving the way for the return to the XI for Kieron Pollard.
These eleven men will take on RCB tonight:

Just one change to the XI that played on Sunday against KKR.
Batting first wasn't ideal but we got to play the better cricket over 40 overs.#PlayBold #RCBvMI #RCB pic.twitter.com/6aVuFIYe6Z
