  • Quetta Gladiators heaped more misery on PSL 2019 basement boys Multan Sultans as comeback kid Dwayne Bravo starred with the ball in a six-wicket win.

In what was the tournament’s final game this year in Dubai, Multan, batting first, were going steady nine overs in having only lost England batsman James Vince to Mohammad Nawaz.

But from 62-1, Multan could not stem the flow of wickets and found themselves at 100-5 by the 15th over.

Early dangerman Johnson Charles (46 from 36 balls) departed lbw to Nawaz (2-32) and Bravo, playing in his first PSL 2019 match after being on duty in the Big Bash, was later responsible for two wickets in two balls.

The 35-year-old first fooled Tom Moores with a slower ball before Daniel Christian was run-out off his yorker.

Left-arm spinner Tanvir (3-19) soon mopped up the tail, with Bravo (3-19) capturing the scalp of captain Shoaib Malik, and as a result Multan were left to defend a measly total of 121.

A fine start from Shane Watson (35) gave Quetta the impetus they needed, though Shahid Afridi gave the Sultans brief hope when he bowled both the Australian and Ahsan Ali.

However, though it was heavy going on a slow pitch, Rilee Rossouw churned out 35 runs from 33 balls to set Quetta on their way to victory with six balls to spare.
