  • Imperious: Alubond Tigers.

At the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, almost every batsman in Tigers line-up contributed with the bat, but it was Raza’s 116 that stood out as his side amassed reached 419 in 48.5 overs.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Tigers openers quickly notched up a fine 89-run partnership in 11 overs. Shahid Siddeq smoked 47 runs from 31 deliveries (seven boundaries and two sixes), while Rohan Mustafa hit 39 from as many balls.

Ghulam Shabbir continued his good form and smashed 71 runs in 42 balls (4×4, 5×6), before Raza joined the party and powered to a fine 116 from 99 deliveries and featured nine fours and a six.

Amjed Gul (28, 16b) and Nasir Aziz (21, 23b) also played their part, but it was Umair Ali Khan and No9 Sultan Ahmed who provided the late acceleration. Khan needed just 17 deliveries to reach 31, while

Ahmed his four fours and three sixes as he raced to 46 in 22 balls.

Only one batsman – Asif Mumtaz (2) – was out on a single-digit score.

For Unicon, Naseeb Khan and Abu Bakar bagged three wickets each, while Javed Khan claimed two, but each bowler went for plenty of runs.

Chasing an almost impossible target, Unicon were under pressure from the start as they lost opener Abdullah Pasha for a painstaking knock of three runs in 29 balls.

Sajjid Ahmed scored a 22-ball 25, Adnan Khan chipped in with 21 and Naseeb Khan made 22 but nobody could score at the pace required, nor make any meaningful partnership as they were bowled out for 133 in 30.2 overs.

For the winners, Sultan Ahmed and Hassan Raza claimed three wickets each, while Amjad Gul picked up two.

The tournament is organised by Sharjah Cricket Council.
