  • Tigers’ captain Nasir Aziz (2nd l) collects the trophy.

At Sharjah Cricket Stadium, his superb unbeaten knock of 86 sealed a seven-wicket triumph for Tigers over Red Flower Tourism.

Put into bat first, Tourism opener Waqas Raja made a bright start scoring a quick 19 runs but his innings came to an end when he was run-out.

Yassir Kaleem and Ubadah Barmawar stayed firm at the crease, with the latter giving his team a boost by scoring an important half century (51). Vipin Venu (18) and Anfal PM (10) added to the team’s total as Tourism reached 169-8 in their 20 overs.

UAE T20 captain Amjad Javed, Sultan Ahmed and Umair Ali were the stand-out bowlers with two scalps each.

Set a challenging target, Tigers’ chase was far from easy when two wickets fell in quick succession.

But Shahid Sadique revived the innings with a fine 45-run knock, which included two boundaries and five sixes.

Shahzad kept the scoreboard ticking, blasting seven sixes and a boundary to reach an impressive 86no. He was well supported by Amjad Gul (23no) as the pair shared an unbeaten 166-run partnership for the fourth wicket as Tigers sealed victory.
