Following his superb performance in the T20I series against the West Indies, that earned Virat Kohli the Player of the series award, the Indian skipper has gained five spots in the ICC T20I rankings and has broken into the top ten. In the three matches against West Indies, Kohli scored 94*, 19 and 70* respectively.

Virat Kohli and Pakistan star batsman Babar Azam are the only two players in the top 15 of the ICC rankings in all three formats.

Kohli’s teammates KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma are the other two Indian batsmen to break into the top ten. Pakistan T20I skipper Babar Azam continues to hold on to the top spot.

Two left-arm spinners, one off-spinner and two leg-spinners occupy the top five spots in the rankings for T20I bowlers. South Africa’s Andile Phehlukwayo is the top-ranked pacer in the shortest format. Former Afghanistan captain is still the best in the shorter format while Mitchell Santner’s excellent performances in the series against England see him rise to No.2 in the rankings.
