Zedan Polo and UAE Polo Team win in second day of Julius Bär Gold Cup 2015

    Zedan Polo and UAE Polo Team won their matches in the second action day of the Julius Bär Gold Cup 2015, 18 goal handicap tournament.

    Zedan defeated Desert Palm II in OT by 9 goals to 8 and UAE Polo did the same with Desert Palm I by 9-8.

    Both matches were really exciting, with great polo and suspense till the last seconds. Zedan and Desert Palm II played a tight match, with even score o short distance in between during all the match.

    The level was so equal that they had to play an extra chukka where Facundo Fernández Llorente scored the winning goal for Zedan.

    The second match of the day was very similar to the opening game.

    UAE Polo led the game in all the five chukkas.

    UAE Polo led the game in all the five chukkas but victory was achieved just in the final seconds thanks to a 60 yard penalty scored by Lucas Monteverde.

    The first seven minutes were the best action seen till know in the Julius Bar Gold Cup. It was a continuous come and go that ended with a 4-3 advantage for UAE Polo.

    HH Sheika Maitha team went to the half time with a three goal advantage but in the second half Desert Palm I made a great come back to tie the match in 8 goals with 30 seconds to go.

    With few seconds to go, UAE Polo was awarded with a 60 yard penalty scored by Monteverde to win the match by 9 goals to 8.

    The Julius Bär Gold Cup will continue next Thursday at the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club, with a double action day. From 2.30 pm, Edrees will play against Ghantoot followed by Bin Drai vs Mahra Polo.
