Relegation-threatened side Ittihad Kalba signed Zimbabwean goal machine Edward Sadomba on a six-month deal while Ajman got their hands on Moroccan Driss Mohammad Fettouhi on a two-and-a-half year deal.
Sadomba, 29, officially signed on with Ittihad Kalba yesterday with the club enjoying a busy January transfer window that also saw them pick Abdullah Jamahi and Ramadan Mohammad on loan from Al Shabab.
Sitting 13th in the table and having already sacked two managers this season, Kalba desperately need an injection of quality from Sadomba, who has scored 98 goals in 90 games for Sudanese side Al Hilal. Kalba have room for another foreign player after they released Moroccans Nabil Daoudi and Ahmad Jahouh.
Elsewhere, Fettouhi replaced countrymen Absessamad Ouahaki at Ajman, enjoying his first training session with the club yesterday. Just 23 years old, Fettouhi was captain of his Morocco team during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Ajman have also signed on 26-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Ocran, who has been with El Gouna in Egypt for the last five years, to replace injured Brazilian defender Junior.
Meanwhile, newly-released Achille Emana has been linked with Al Wasl, who are waiting on the fitness of midfielder Mariano Donda.
Emana, released after Al Ahli signed Ricardo Quaresma, is supposedly keen on staying in the UAE.
