  • Kasper Schmeichel to Manchester United?

With only a few weeks to go until the end of the season, transfer gossip is beginning to gather pace!

    KASPER SCHMEICHEL

KASPER SCHMEICHEL could follow in his father’s footsteps by signing for Manchester United, according to Sky Sports.

The Leicester goalkeeper has emerged as United’s number one target to replace David De Gea if the Spaniard joins Real Madrid in the summer. The red side of Manchester will face competition from the other half, though, as City are also keen on the Denmark international.

    RATING: 7/10

SPORT360 VERDICT: Although he signed a new five-year deal last summer, it will be difficult for Schmeichel to turn down a lucrative offer at Old Trafford. With De Gea expected to move back to Spain this summer, the Dane remains their key target to take over the number one shirt.

    ANTOINE GRIEZMANN

United are ready to splash the cash in the summer having been told they will have to pay ANTOINE GRIEZMANN £300,000 per week if they want to sign him from Atletico Madrid.

The France international has been a long-time target for Jose Mourinho, but will have to make him the Premier League’s highest paid player if they want to bring him to Old Trafford.

    RATING: 2/10

SPORT360 VERDICT: The rumours continue to gather momentum, but it is still unlikely Manchester United will break the bank – a figure well over £100 million – to secure the services of the elusive Frenchman. If they are to sign Griezmann, they will have to make him the highest paid player, ahead of the club’s top earners Wayne Rooney and Paul Pogba.

    VIRGIL VAN DIJK

There could be further bad news for Southampton, as Chelsea are closing in on the signing VIRGIL VAN DIJK, according to The Sun.

The Premier League champions in wait will spend £50million on the defender, beating Arsenal to his signature.

    RATING: 7/10

SPORT360 VERDICT: With John Terry leaving at the end of the season and much doubt over the progress of Kurt Zouma, manager Antonio Conte is expected to do everything he can to lure the Dutchman to Stamford Bridge.

    What else is going on?

Luke Shaw is reportedly out for the rest of the season after suffering a badly bruised foot in the 1-1 draw against Swansea at the weekend.

The 21-year-old left back lasted only nine minutes before being replaced by Antonio Valencia.
