  • Dortmund's injured star Marco Reus is a Premier League target

The transfer window may not open again until January 1 2018 but that hasn’t put an end to plenty of speculation throughout Europe.

Here, we take a look at three big stories dominating the headlines on Tuesday.

Will any of the following deals happen?

    MARCO REUS

Manchester United and Arsenal are keeping tabs on Marco Reus’s recovery from injury as they look at the possibility of firming up their interest in the Borussia Dortmund forward, reports Sport Bild.

The 28-year-old is out of action until 2018 after suffering cruciate knee ligament damage but is persistently linked with a move to the Premier League.

    RATING: 6/10

    VERDICT

Reus has been debilitated by a horrendous trend of injuries and now entering his prime this will arguably be the last chance for him to earn big money elsewhere.

If he can return to top form in the New Year, just about every elite club will be after him so it’s no surprise to see the rumour mill gathering apace.

    PHILIPPE COUTINHO

Liverpool could allow Philippe Coutinho to join Barcelona in January, according to the Mail.

The reports says boss Jurgen Klopp “has neither ruled out a sale nor denied that an agreement exists between the two clubs over an eventual transfer”.

    RATING: 7/10

    VERDICT

The protracted transfer over the summer saw Liverpool reject bid after bid but this report follows on previous which says the club’s owners would be much more receptive to a bid if they were out of the Premier League title picture.

Barca have not been deterred by their failures so far so we could be set for this saga to be resurrected in the winter.
