  • Al Jazira Sports Club has launched a community outreach programme designed to put the people of Abu Dhabi at the heart of everything it offers.

The club wants the community to help shape all of its offerings and is reaching out to people from all nationalities, cultures and walks of life to find out what is important to them when it comes to a community sports club in the heart of the capital.

Representatives from Al Jazira Club are meeting with community leaders in the UAE capital from countries such as UK, Egypt, Sudan and Pakistan, but with more than 100 nationalities living in Abu Dhabi, the club is also urging as many members of the wider community to offer their feedback.

Al Jazira Club is famed for its top tier football team and world-class stadium and is keen to learn more about what the people of Abu Dhabi – ranging from dedicated fans to families looking for a day out – want when they come to the stadium to watch the team in action.

However, Al Jazira wants to hear the views of the community across the entire club as it also houses top teams in other sports as well as offering some of its facilities to the community.

The Abu Dhabi community can now get in touch on what they want to see from Al Jazira Club by completing a short and simple online survey. This will be available for a limited time and will be promoted through the club’s official social media accounts and website.

Additionally, the club also reached out to their own fans during their home Arabian Gulf League clash against Al Wahda on May 2, with supporters completing the survey before the big local derby.

Nick Garcia, Group Chief Executive Officer at Al Jazira Sports Club, said: “This campaign puts the community at the heart of the club and helps us shape it around the needs of the vibrant and multi-cultural population of Abu Dhabi.

“We want to know what more we can do to support communities and make them part of the Al Jazira family. Is it just about watching great live sport, or do they want to participate too? How can we improve our matchday experience for Abu Dhabi’s diverse population? How can we create a sense of belonging to everyone that calls Abu Dhabi home?

“At this stage, we want as much feedback as possible from Abu Dhabi men and women of all ages and nationalities. Whether they are sport mad or just want to share their opinion on how we can help the community, we welcome and appreciate all feedback.”

Al Jazira Football Club play their home games at the stunning 38,000 seater Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium, based in the heart of the city. With a rich history of success in football, the club is currently third the Arabian Gulf League, which concludes on May 25.

In addition to football, Al Jazira has a host of top class facilities for basketball, handball, volleyball, judo, jiu-jitsu and swimming.
