  • Arsenal skipper Robin van Persie has dropped the biggest hint yet that his future may lie away from the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Van Persie, 28, has a little over 12 months remaining on his contract with the Gunners, and had refused to enter talks over a new deal as he prefered to concentrate on matters on the field.

And while the Dutchman has confirmed discussions will take place next week before he links-up with the Holland squad ahead of Euro 2012, he refused to commit his future to the club.

Speaking after Arsenal’s 3-2 win over West Brom, a result that clinched third spot in the Premier League and a lucrative Champions League place next season, Van Persie, said: “We will have a chat next week somewhere.

“You never know but Arsenal is a great club. I have been playing here for eight years and I love this club. Whatever happens that will never change. We will see. We will have a chat and go from there.”

Van Persie has been linked with a host of clubs, with newly-crowned Serie A champions Juventus the first to declare their interest in the prolific marksmen, who picked up the Golden Boot this season after netting 30 league goals.

“Van Persie is a great player,” Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta said last week. “He is a complete player and would be useful to any team. But he still has one year left in his contract with Arsenal. We will try to put the icing on the cake this summer but the important thing is that the mix is good.”

Manchester City are also known to be monitoring his situation closely with boss Roberto Mancini admitting recently that Van Persie would be a “perfect” addition to his side amid speculation the new Premier League champions are prepared to pay him £250,000-a-week.
