Egyptian international Ahmed Hegazy has completed a €1.5million move to Italian side Fiorentina.
The 21-year-old central defender, who has five caps for his country, joins from Egyptian club Ismaily and has signed a four-year contract at the Stadio Franchi.
A statement from the Serie A outfit read: “Fiorentina announces it has acquired the sporting rights of Ahmed Hegazy from Ismaily Sporting club.”
Hegazy’s arrival in Florence is the Viola’s first summer recruit with the defender following in the footsteps of compatriot Mido in playing in Italy’s top-flight.
