  • Arsene Wenger has revealed his interest in German star Marco Reus following his exciting performance in his country’s 4-2 win over Greece.

Wenger is looking to add more striking options to his squad and the Arsenal boss has already purchased Reus’s international teammate Lukas Podolski from FC Koln.

Wenger praised Reus on French television and when asked by Bixente Lizarazu if he was ‘on the case’, he replied with an affirmative ‘Yes’. Reus only made his first start in Germany’s quarter-final tie versus Greece but impressed many with his impressive forward play.

The 23 year old caused havoc for the Greek defence, creating space and getting himself into a number of dangerous positions. Despite spurning several opportunities, Reus looked the complete package and his thunderous strike to score Germany’s fourth goal was superbly taken.

The chances of Wenger getting his man though are extremely slim. Reus, who has appeared for Borussia Monchengladbach for the past three seasons, joins Borussia Dortmund this summer after agreeing to a £14million transfer in January.

If Arsenal are serious about buying Germany’s latest star they will have they will have to spend big to convince Dortmund to even consider selling the player.
