  • Abdullah Nasser Al Junaibi, the Chairman of the Board of Al Wahda, says the club is yet to decide on the future of Hamdan Al Kamali, whose six-month loan with French Ligue One side Olympique Lyon ends this month.

Al Kamali, who is currently with the UAE Olympic team at its training base in Linz, Austria, wants to continue with the French giants even though he is yet to start for the club.

Al Kamali has the option of a permanent switch and has said he would like to make the move to France, but the ball is currently in Wahda’s court.

The player told Sport360°: “The level of professionalism there is really high and just training with the reserves and doing whatever I do there I feel like I’ve matured so much as a player.

“I want to continue playing for Lyon because that will be good for my career.”

    Masood

The future of Fahad Masood is also up for grab, who has returned from his season-long loan spell at Al Wasl. Wahda chief Al Junaibi, however, has declared that the decision will be taken by the club’s new coach Branko Ivankovic.

“Coach Branko will determine the final list of the team for the new season,” Al Junaibi said.

Wahda dismissed its overseas quartet at the end of the season with Brazilian trio Fernando Baiano, Hugo and Magrao, all leaving and Oman’s Mohammed Al Shaibah returning to Wasl after his loan spell.

The club have signed Senegalese striker Papa Waigo from Italian side Ascoli and Gabon international Eric Mouloungui from Nice.

Jordan defensive midfielder Anas Bani Yaseen is their Asian signing for the season and the club are scouting for a fourth player, likely to be another defensive midfielder.

    Al Shabab

Meanwhile, in Dubai Al Shabab have renewed UAE international defender Waleed Abbas’ contract for another three years.

The new deal will see the UAE centre-back remain at the Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum Stadium until June 2015. Ahli had been in talks to acquire his signature on a similar three year deal.

Shabab have completed their foreign quartet with Brazilians Edgar Bruno Da Silva and Luiz Henrique Da Silva Alves.

The club earlier retained Uzbekistan midfielder Azizbek Haydarov and winger Jociel Ferreira.

The PLC have made an exemption and let Shabab sign an additional overseas player due to Chilean Carlos Villanueva’s recovery from surgery.
