  • The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) has underlined its commitment to the Yas Marina Circuit by inking a new three-year sponsorship deal with the track.

As part of the renewed agreement, NBAD will continue in their role as the official bank of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, a title they have held since the first race was held at Yas back in 2009.

Yas Marina CEO Richard Cregan believes that the support of NBAD was integral to the ongoing success of the grand prix, which takes place from November 2-4.

“In four short years, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has solidified its reputation as one of the world’s most exciting F1 races,” Cregan said. “The year-round success of Yas Marina Circuit is thanks to the ongoing support of partners such as NBAD, who together with the wider Abu Dhabi community, have embraced the potential of the circuit as a sporting, community and events venue.”

Abdulla M. S. Abdulraheem, Deputy Group Chief Executive at NBAD, was keen to stress the importance of the race in building up the reputation of the capital as a tourist destination as well as that of the bank internationally.

NBAD have recently expanded into Malaysia and China, meaning they have a presence in 15 countries across four continents.

“The National Bank of Abu Dhabi is committed to supporting strategies that propel Abu Dhabi to a global hub of commerce and culture; the Yas Marina Circuit and the Formula 1 Grand Prix are essential pillars of this strategy,” he said.

“The successful hosting of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix confirmed that Abu Dhabi is a leading international city with world class sporting and recreational facilities; and NBAD is proud to continue its sponsorship of Yas Marina Circuit and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.”
