PLAYER OF THE WEEK
The unstoppable Moussa Sow came up with the last-gasp winner at Sharjah, but Ciel was the star for the title chasers. The Brazilian – back in the fold due to Lima’s injury – rattled the crossbar from distance and his perserverance saw him set-up his colleague to steal the headlines.
GOAL OF THE WEEK
Patrick Eze (Fujairah)
A sinking feeling has taken over the Wolves, yet with the Nigerian striker they should have too much to go down. His volley in the critical 2-1 loss at Al Dhafra was beautifully taken, firing in a stunning low effort from 20 yards with the ball slightly behind him.
COACH OF THE WEEK
Javier Aguirre (Al Wahda)
The Mexican wringed a ravenous display from his troops in the must-win clash against Al Nasr, sparking hopes of AFC Champions League football and a contract renewal. The Clarets snuffed out their visitors’ threat expertly, bettering them in every department.

TALKING POINT
Ahli embracing Champions League spirit
Late winners detailed the action at the top of the AGL this round. Leaders Al Ain have made a habit of such salvage jobs but Ahli’s lastgasp triumph at Sharjah was their first domestically this campaign. Their run to the 2015 AFC Champions League final famously saw a dramatic turnaround against Tractor Sazi to proceed from the group stage and a even-more-epic push past Al Hilal in the last four. A rekindling of this spirit could be key to deciding their title fate.
