Al Jazira boss Marcel Keizer has challenged his troops to “correct the errors” – starting with Tuesday’s visit to Ajman in the Arabian Gulf League.

The ex-Ajax supremo, 49, has overseen an entertaining start to the season. His new employers sit fourth on seventh points after Thursday’s 2-2 draw with promoted Bani Yas, their unbeaten three top-flight games possessing a cumulative scoreline of 10-8.

A hectic period sees this fixture followed by Saturday’s first-round decider in the Arab Club Champions Cup at Al Nassr in Riyadh – a 2-1 first-leg loss was registered in last month’s opener – and then resurgent Sharjah come to Abu Dhabi on October 5.

“We will play three games in a very short period of time, starting with Tuesday’s game against Ajman, before we travel to Al Nassr in Riyadh and then face Sharjah in the Arabian Gulf League,” said Keizer.

“We’ve analysed our performance in the last game against Bani Yas and are currently working to correct the errors and perform better in the next rounds – starting with the game against Ajman.”

Fellow ACCC contestants Al Wasl are also in domestic action, against lowly Emirates Club.

Star Brazilian forward Fabio De Lima begins a three-match suspension after his dismissal for flaring up at countryman Leonardo during Friday’s disappointing 4-1 loss at leaders Al Wahda.

Coach Gustavo Quinteros – who could hand a debut to South Korea defender Oh Ban-suk – was hopeful of a strong response.

He said: “We have an important game against Emirates Club. We are working hard in training to address the mistakes of the past.”

Wasl welcome managerless Saudi Arabian’s Al Ittihad to Dubai on Sunday. The opener was a 1-1 draw.
