  • Abderrahmane Meziane (Al Ain).

Algerian winger Abderrahmane Meziane has vowed to continue repaying Al Ain for the faith they showed in him after an injury disrupted start.

Meziane, 25, marked his return to the XI after two months out injured with an outstanding goal in Sunday’s 4-1 at Ajman. Next up for the summer addition from USM Alger is Thursday’s welcoming of Al Dhafra to Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.

“I had been absent from the team for two months because of the injury and I am currently ready to compensate the team for my absence,” he said.

Al Ain are one of the sides in pursuit of unbeaten leaders – and champions – Sharjah.

The King welcome to Sharjah Stadium a sinking Ajman side who’ve lost five of their last six AGL matches.

Bottom-placed Khor Fakkan run-out at Khalid bin Mohammed Stadium on Friday versus a title-chasing Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club keen to get back to winning ways against winless opponents.

“What happened in the Al Wasl match was a momentary matter,” said boss Rodolfo Arruabarrena about Monday’s 1-1 draw.

“We should not concern ourselves with these matters. It is better to provide our energy for the team and not waste it on other things.”

Elsewhere, Al Wahda will aim to stop a three-match winless run when they travel to Ittihad Kalba. Bani Yas will be out to inflict more misery on Madjid Bougherra’s Fujairah and Al Nasr can bounce back against Hatta.
