  • Hot property: Amer Abdulrahman (c).

Bani Yas vice chairman Mubarak Awad bin Mahirom has issued a hands-off warning to Arabian Gulf League clubs intent on signing midfield star Amer Abdulrahman.

The talented UAE international is believed to be a target for as many as four AGL clubs, according to reports, with suggestions Luis Garcia’s Sky Blues have already rejected several approaches for their talisman.

The 26-year-old may not be the most famous Abdulrahman in the UAE but he has enjoyed a return to form for Bani Yas, playing 18 AGL games last season and scoring one goal after returning from an injury-ravaged 2013/14 campaign.

The man who shields his side’s back four still has two years left to run on his current contract and Bin Mahirom refuted any suggestions Abdulrahman will be sold this summer.

“He is very much a Bani Yas player and there is no way that the club will sell him,” Bin Mahirom said of a player who was linked with Blackburn Rovers after starring during the UAE’s Gulf Cup triumph in 2013.

“Nothing is open to negotiation with other clubs and there are no negotiations with any.

“Amer is one of our most important players. We would not even think about selling him.”

Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Joan Verdu’s future is still up in the air, after the club confirmed earlier this week they were looking to replace the 32-year-old Barcelona academy graduate.
