  • Lionel Messi has been impressed by Philippe Coutinho.

The result was never in doubt. Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta – imperious on what is likely one of his last Barcelona appearances – turned on the style in the Copa del Rey final 5-0 mauling of Sevilla.

Suarez kicked things off with just a quarter of an hour gone, as Barca, who won their 30th Copa del Rey title, ran rings around the Andalusians.

The Uruguayan completed a double while Messi and Iniesta also got in the act, before Philippe Coutinho applied the icing with a second-half penalty.

Take a look at two very contrasting sets of ratings for Barcelona and Sevilla.

    BARCELONA RATINGS

Cillessen 7. Played a pinpoint long pass to Coutinho to set up opener and carried out his tasks in goal very well.

Roberto 7. Solid in defence and energetic coming forward, showing why he is a key member of the team.

Pique 8. Masterful display at the back, rarely looking troubled. Regularly broke forward in search of a goal.

Umtiti 7. Back to his best after a dodgy run of form, but should have scored from close-range.

Alba 7. Set up Messi’s goal with a cheeky back-heel and was a constant attacking presence down the left.

Coutinho 7. Topped a bright performance with an excellent assist for the opener and a well-taken penalty.

Rakitic 7. An understated but highly effective presence against his former club, keeping Barca ticking over.

Busquets 7. Brilliant range of passing and spatial awareness, but could have seen red for brutal foul on Vazquez.

Iniesta 8. Hit the bar in the first half and scored a superb effort in the second. Fine way to bow out.

Messi 8. Thrashed home the second goal, produced a brilliant pass for the third and fourth. Magnificent.

Suarez 8. Scored twice and charged around all night with great menace, delivering a centre forward’s masterclass.

    SEVILLA RATINGS

Soria 5. Faced a flood of pressure all night, maybe could have come out to clear before the opener.

Navas 7. Regular threat down the right and probably Sevilla’s best player on the night.

Mercado 4. Booked for a lunge on Suarez and that summed up his aggressive but ineffective outing.

Lenglet 5. Reportedly a transfer target for Barca but this hesitant display won’t have helped his cause.

Escudero 5. Booked for desperate pull-back on Messi and was outplayed by Coutinho.

NZonzi 4. Normally a giant in midfield but on this occasion he was almost invisible.

Banega 6. Tried to knit Sevilla together but found himself overwhelmed by his team’s open shape.

Sarabia 5. Couldn’t get into the game and struggled to track the runs of Alba.

Vazquez 6 Good creative play in the first half but faded. Sent a headed chance straight at Cillessen.

Correa 4. Scuffed early chance wide and was substituted at half-time after making little impact.

Muriel 4. Very disappointing from the Colombian, who must have been happy to escape Umtiti’s pocket at full-time.
