Barcelona are still committed to signing Adrien Rabiot but could reportedly find it difficult to get a deal over the line for the Paris Saint-Germain star this summer.

The relationship between the two clubs has been tense since Neymar‘s protracted transfer saga last summer and the French giants are thought to be happy to keep 23-year-old Rabiot at the Parc des Princes.

That said, the Frenchman is entering into the final year of his contract and could be available on a free transfer next summer.

However, according to ESPN, dialogue between the respective European giants has slowed, with PSG in a position to make the final call.

Rabiot has caught the attention of new boss Thomas Tuchel during pre-season and it is seemingly an option for him to stay and fight for his place with the Parisian side.

“You can see Adrien’s potential… he still has room to grow,” Tuchel said after a recent friendly.

“I love this player. I love working with him and his potential is clear to see.

“Regarding Adrien’s contract situation, ultimately, it is up to him. He must decide if he wants to commit to us, to our style and to his formative club. Otherwise, he will go for a new challenge.”
