Barcelona return to the scene of glorious triumph as they travel to Tottenham’s temporary home Wembley on Wednesday night in their Champions League Group B blockbuster.
The clash brings back happy memories for the Catalans who have spoken in reverence of returning to the national stadium for the first time since their 2011 domination of Manchester United in the Champions League final.
That 3-1 battering of Sir Alex Ferguson’s side is used as a yardstick for the subsequent failures in Europe with Lionel Messi and Co. desperate to rectify their Champions League drought this season.
And ahead of the clash midfielder Ivan Rakitic said he hoped to continue the side’s positive history at Wembley.
